To provide high-quality medical care, oversee clinical services, and support public health initiatives within the assigned facility. The Medical Officer will ensure effective diagnosis, treatment, and referral of patients while contributing to health education, disease prevention, and coordination with relevant stakeholders to uphold healthcare standards.
Provide outpatient consultation with dignity and considering humanitarian principles to the Rohingya community coming to the health facility for treatment
Manage acute emergencies and chronic illnesses in line with national and WHO guidelines
Provide accurate diagnosis, treatment, and referral to the Rohingya community based on need, following the guidelines for the Rohingya community
Respond to disease outbreaks and coordinate with BRAC’s emergency health teams and other humanitarian actors
Responsible for the management of maternal and obstetric emergencies and supporting midwives in conducting deliveries
Provide neonatal and child care
Provide admission and treatment to the IPD patients following the guidelines and ensure daily morning and evening follow-up to IPD
Act as the shift focal and take the responsibilities of the health facility in the absence of the facility in charge and during the night shifts
Involve in disease data reporting and surveillance for both the health sector in Cox’s Bazaar and the BRAC internal mechanism
Conduct health awareness sessions on hygiene, disease prevention, and reproductive health
Collaborate with community health workers to promote health-seeking behavior
Providing training on clinical Management/ CME sessions and ensuring the quality services of the facility staff
Maintain accurate patient records and submit regular reports to BRAC’s health management team
Coordinate with health partners during disease surveillance and epidemic preparedness
Ensure rational use of medicines and maintain inventory of essential drugs and supplies
Coordinate with the facility staff to report stock-outs and timely replenishment
Supervise the activities of the nurse, medical assistants, and midwives and improve their capacity and competency through mentoring, coaching, and on-the-job training
Assist in preparing work plans, reports, and medicine and medical logistic requisitions accordingly
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
