Job Context:
∎ Purpose of the position: Partners in Health and Development (PHD) is implementing an emergency project titled `Response to new Rohingya Settlements for Maternal New-born Child and Adolescent Health Services` since September 2017 in Cox`s Bazar District (Ukiya and Teknaf) with support from UNICEF. A total of 145 staff (79 technical and 66 non-technical) including 27 Doctors and 52 auxiliary health staff (Nurse, paramedic and midwives) are providing emergency medical services from Health Posts (HP) and Primary Health Care Centres (PHC). In order to provide monitoring and hands-on support to service providers PHD is looking for a technically sound Medical Coordinator for immediate appointment.
∎ Duty station: Cox`s Bazar with extensive visits to project sites (Ukiya and Teknaf)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Medical Coordinator will be responsible for effective implementation of the Clinical services including establish duty-roster of service providers and day-to-day management and quality of services offered from HP and PHCs.
∎ Establish standard service delivery protocols, prepare health operational strategies, help developing procedures for medical treatments, quality assurance, patient services, and public relations activities.
∎ Support in the establishment of patient-friendly clinical, operational and facility services throughout the entire Health Facilities on a 24-hour basis (PHCs) including coaching staff in problem solving and conflict resolutions.
∎ Collaborate with clinical and supportive staff to foster delivery of Standard quality care, ensuring quality support from other technical and supportive staff, supervise the pharmacy operations in collaboration with the medical team;
∎ Attend staff meetings; participate in continuous improvement in development of protocols and quality of services;
∎ Participate to health sector platforms and any relevant health coordination mechanisms
∎ Establish and maintain good relationship with Ministry of Health and District Health Office and maintain good relationship with partners, UN agencies and other NGOs
∎ Prepare monthly reports including writing of donors' activity reports and proposals.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 05 years management experience in maternal, child health, family planning and nutrition-based program.
∎ Demonstrable experiences in working closely with GOB Health, Family Planning and other development partners;
∎ Strong supervision and management skills: project management, team management, HR management;
∎ Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and motivation to work in extreme difficult condition;
∎ Ability to contribute to develop a proactive team, working collaboratively with colleagues and support as necessary
∎ Computer skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email and web browsing
∎ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
∎ Written and verbal skills in both Bengali and English
Salary:
∎ BDT 120,000 - 150,000 (consolidated)
