Position Overview:
The MEAL Officer will play a critical role in supporting the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework of the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) project. This role involves designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation activities, ensuring accountability measures are in place, and fostering a culture of learning and improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring & Evaluation:
Develop and implement the MEAL plan for the MNCH project, including monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools.
Design and manage data collection processes, including surveys, focus group discussions, and interviews.
Ensure the accurate and timely collection, analysis, and reporting of project data.
Monitor project performance against objectives and indicators, regularly updating the project team and stakeholders.
Conduct periodic evaluations to assess the effectiveness and impact of project interventions.
Strong understanding of the Log frame and theory of Change.
Data Management:
Oversee the data entry, storage, and management systems to ensure data integrity and security.
Prepare and present data reports, including quantitative and qualitative findings, to inform project decision-making and strategy.
Facilitate data analysis workshops and sessions with project staff and stakeholders.
Accountability:
Develop and implement accountability mechanisms, including feedback and complaints handling systems.
Ensure that beneficiaries and stakeholders have access to information about the project and its outcomes.
Conduct regular field visits to assess the effectiveness of accountability systems and address any issues.
Learning & Improvement:
Promote a culture of learning within the project team by documenting lessons learned and best practices.
Facilitate learning sessions and workshops to share knowledge and improve project implementation.
Support the integration of MEAL findings into project design and implementation to enhance effectiveness and impact.
Capacity Building:
Train and support project staff and partners on MEAL processes, tools, and methodologies.
Provide technical assistance and guidance on data collection, analysis, and reporting.
