Job Purpose
The Marketing Executive is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of marketing, student recruitment, and promotional strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of Essex School of Business. The role focuses on attracting prospective students, strengthening institutional partnerships, promoting UK and international education pathways, and contributing to the achievement of student recruitment targets.
The post holder will work closely with academic, admissions, and administrative teams to deliver effective marketing campaigns that reflect the values and strategic objectives of the institution.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Marketing and Student Recruitment
Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote ESB programmes, short courses, and international progression pathways.
Assist in achieving annual student recruitment and enrolment targets.
Identify new recruitment opportunities through schools, colleges, corporate organisations, education consultants, and community networks.
Organise and participate in education fairs, seminars, workshops, open days, school visits, and recruitment events.
Deliver presentations and provide accurate information regarding programmes, admissions, scholarships, and progression opportunities.
Digital Marketing and Brand Promotion
Manage and update the institution's social media platforms to increase brand awareness and student engagement.
Assist in creating engaging digital content, including promotional videos, graphics, newsletters, blogs, and marketing materials.
Coordinate website updates in collaboration with the web development team to ensure information remains accurate and current.
Support digital advertising campaigns using platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevant channels.
Monitor campaign performance and recommend improvements based on data and analytics.
Partnership Development
Build and maintain productive relationships with schools, colleges, training providers, employers, and education agents.
Support the development of strategic partnerships that contribute to student recruitment and institutional growth.
Represent ESB professionally during meetings with external stakeholders and prospective partners.
Admissions Support
Work closely with the Admissions Team to ensure prospective students receive accurate information regarding entry requirements, application procedures, and enrolment.
Respond promptly to enquiries through email, telephone, social media, and face-to-face consultations.
Support applicants throughout the admissions process to improve conversion rates.
Market Research and Business Development
Conduct market research to identify emerging education trends, competitor activities, and recruitment opportunities.
Analyse student recruitment data and prepare reports to support strategic decision-making.
Identify new markets for domestic and international student recruitment.
Events and Public Relations
Coordinate promotional events, networking activities, and institutional ceremonies.
Develop promotional materials, brochures, prospectuses, banners, and exhibition resources.
Support public relations activities to strengthen ESB's reputation and public profile.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
Ensure that all marketing activities comply with institutional policies, awarding body requirements, advertising standards, and relevant regulatory guidance.
Promote accurate, transparent, and ethical marketing practices.
Maintain confidentiality of institutional and student information in accordance with data protection policies.
General Responsibilities
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Marketing Department.
Work collaboratively with academic and professional services staff.
Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role as assigned by senior management.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
Professional marketing qualification will be an advantage.
Essential Experience
Minimum 2–3 years' experience in marketing, student recruitment, or business development within the education sector.
Proven experience working with universities, colleges, training providers, or educational institutions.
Experience in planning and delivering successful marketing campaigns.
Experience in organising education events, exhibitions, or recruitment activities.
Experience managing social media and digital marketing platforms.
Desirable Experience
Experience promoting UK or international qualifications and higher education programmes.
Experience working with education agents, institutional partners, or international recruitment networks.
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and student recruitment databases.
Knowledge and Skills
