Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of teaching or relevant industry experience in computer science or a related discipline

• Experience in curriculum development and student assessment practices

• Exposure to international academic environments is an advantage

Essential Skills and Requirements

Job Purpose

The Lecturer in Computer Science is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and supporting student learning in core and emerging areas of computer science at Essex School of Business. The role involves developing engaging course content, maintaining academic standards, and fostering a practical, innovation-driven learning environment. The Lecturer will contribute to curriculum development, academic quality assurance, and student success while aligning teaching practices with international standards and industry trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching & Learning Delivery
  Plan and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in areas such as programming, data structures, databases, and emerging technologies.

• Curriculum Development
  Contribute to the design, review, and continuous improvement of modules to ensure relevance to industry and global academic standards.

• Student Support & Mentorship
  Provide academic guidance, supervision, and pastoral support to students to enhance learning outcomes.

• Assessment & Feedback
  Develop assessments, evaluate student performance, and provide timely and constructive feedback.

• Academic Quality Assurance
  Ensure compliance with institutional policies and uphold academic integrity and standards.

• Research & Professional Development
  Engage in research, scholarly activity, and continuous professional development to stay current with technological advancements.
