Job Purpose
The IT Officer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, security, and continuous improvement of the institution’s IT infrastructure. The role supports academic delivery and administrative functions by managing hardware, software, networks, digital platforms, and surveillance systems. Fluency in English and strong communication skills are essential, as the post holder works closely with academic staff, administrative teams, students, and external service providers.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including computers, servers, printers, networking equipment, and internet connectivity
Provide day-to-day technical support to staff and students, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly
Support and maintain institutional systems such as LMS platforms, student portals, CRM system, email systems, and internal databases
Assist with user account creation, access control, and permissions for staff, students, and authorised agents
Monitor system performance, data security, backups, and disaster recovery processes
Manage and maintain CCTV systems, including camera functionality, recording equipment, storage, access control, and routine checks
Ensure CCTV systems operate in line with institutional security, safeguarding, and data protection policies
Support online teaching delivery by assisting with classroom technology, audio-visual equipment, and virtual learning tools
Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers for system upgrades, maintenance, and repairs
Maintain accurate records of IT assets, licences, warranties, and service logs
Assist with implementation of new digital tools, system upgrades, and technology-driven initiatives
Promote safe and responsible use of IT systems among staff and students
