Experience:
Master’s / MBA / BBA in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Marketing or a related discipline
Degree from a reputed public or private university
Minimum 1–4 years of relevant experience in market research, field research, consumer insights, FMCG market tracking, competitor analysis, channel research, business analysis or planning support
Experience in FMCG, consumer products, packaged food, essentials, retail trade, dealer/distributor channel, outlet research or field-based market research will be preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong capability in business research, primary and secondary research, qualitative and quantitative methods and structured fieldwork
Good understanding of SWOT, competitor analysis, pricing analysis, channel analysis, market sizing, category intelligence and consumer behavior analysis
Ability to prepare structured reports, dashboards, data tables, presentations and concise business recommendations
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and/or Google Workspace, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Docs and Sheets
Strong communication, stakeholder coordination and presentation skills
Practical understanding of FMCG market channels, retail outlet dynamics, dealer/distributor behavior, trade schemes, SKU movement, visibility and price competitiveness
The position is responsible for generating actionable market research and competitive insights for consumer and FMCG products. The role supports management decisions through field research, retail and trade channel assessment, consumer and retailer feedback, competitor tracking, pricing intelligence, outlet observation, data validation and evidence-based business recommendations.
Collect, verify and summarize consumer and FMCG market information through field visits, retail outlet checks, dealer/distributor and retailer interviews, consumer interactions, desk research and stakeholder coordination.
Conduct surveys, market assessments, outlet observations, shelf and visibility checks, route-to-market reviews, customer feedback collection and retail channel checks for consumer and FMCG product categories.
Track competitor activities, pricing movements, trade schemes, pack-size and SKU changes, product availability, visibility, distribution coverage, trade sentiment, customer preference and local market changes.
Prepare routine consumer/FMCG market research reports, dashboards, price trackers, data tables, charts and field observation notes for management review.
Support market share, market size, demand, pricing, channel, product category, brand performance and consumer behavior analysis using approved templates and source records.
Maintain clean datasets, source logs, visit records, evidence registers where permitted and version-controlled working files.
Escalate unusual market movements, competitor actions, consumer sentiment issues, pricing gaps, product availability concerns or channel risks to the reporting manager.
Ensure confidentiality, source traceability, proper version control, and professional handling of all reports, datasets, dashboards and communications.
