Experience:
Master’s / MBA / BBA in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Marketing or a related discipline
Degree from a reputed public or private university
Minimum 1–4 years of relevant experience in market research, field research, commodity market intelligence, competitor tracking, channel research, business analysis or planning support
Experience in rice, flour, peas, pulses, food staples, wholesale and retail commodity markets, trading, dealer/distributor channel or field-based market research will be preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong capability in business research, primary and secondary research, qualitative and quantitative methods and structured fieldwork
Good understanding of SWOT, competitor analysis, pricing analysis, channel analysis, market sizing, category intelligence and trade sentiment analysis
Ability to prepare structured reports, dashboards, data tables, presentations and concise business recommendations
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and/or Google Workspace, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Docs and Sheets
Strong communication, stakeholder coordination and presentation skills
Practical understanding of bulk commodity channels, wholesale and retail market dynamics, trader/dealer behavior, price competitiveness, seasonality and local market movement
The position is responsible for generating actionable market research and competitive insights for bulk commodities including rice, flour, peas and pulses. The role supports management decisions through field research, wholesale and retail market assessment, trader and dealer feedback, price and availability tracking, competitor monitoring, demand-supply observation, data validation and evidence-based business recommendations.
Collect, verify and summarize bulk commodities market information for rice, flour, peas and pulses through field visits, wholesale market checks, dealer/distributor interactions, trader, retailer, miller and importer discussions, desk research and stakeholder coordination.
Conduct market assessments, outlet observations, trade channel checks, customer and trader feedback collection, price movement tracking and demand-supply observation for bulk commodity categories.
Track competitor activities, brand/importer movements, pricing changes, product availability, distribution movement, trade sentiment, quality/grade issues, stock signals, local production signals, import flow, duty/tariff changes, transport cost, FX movement and seasonal consumption patterns where applicable.
Prepare routine bulk commodities market research reports, dashboards, price trackers, data tables, charts and field observation notes for management review.
Support market share, market size, demand, supply, pricing, channel, seasonality and category analysis using approved templates and source records.
Maintain clean datasets, source logs, visit records, evidence registers where permitted and version-controlled working files.
Escalate unusual price movements, supply disruption signals, competitor actions, customer or trader sentiment issues, pricing gaps or channel risks to the reporting manager.
Ensure confidentiality, source traceability, proper version control, and professional handling of all reports, datasets, dashboards and communications.
