Educational Requirements:
∎ Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree with specialization in finance or an MBA or other Masters in a related field, or
∎ A professional qualified degree, such as an CFA, ACA, ACMA, ACCA will be an added advantage.
Job Context:
∎ A 7 years old leading full fledged merchant bank is looking for a dynamic Managing Director & CEO
∎ To provide Strategic direction to the Board of Directors in next three years keeping the following in background: a profitable entity with a good-sized own portfolio; history of IPOs and M&A transactions, and a small and effective team in place.
∎ To ensure transformation from a (small) Board led company to a Management led company within this time, through an executive committee comprising Board and senior management.
∎ To propose new areas of expansion of business, as per the relevant candidate`s background.
∎ To provide a reasonable market adjusted Return on Equity to the Balance Sheet, to ensure continued growth.
∎ To supervise existing team compliance in accounts and finance, tax and regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ability to form and lead and having existing relationships with C- level clients and regulatory counterparts and stakeholders to exchange information needed, including but not limited to BSEC, DSE, CSE, CDBL, FRC, audit firms, domestic corporates and financing institutions.
∎ Ability to originate business for the Company, across the range of activities, including potential IPOs for SME and Main Board, bank loan / bond / sukuk offerings, M&A transactions, and business plans / information memorandum for bank financing.
∎ Ability to provide advisory services within the framework of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Public Issue) Rules, 2015 to the companies intending to raise its capital through IPO, rights issue, secondary offerings.
∎ Assess the prospective client with regard to compliance of IFRS, BSEC, DSE and other regulations.
∎ A history of transactions, whether in IPOs, Rights Issues, Preference Shares, Bonds, Load Syndications, Private Equity or other similar transactions.
∎ Highly motivated, committed to the highest ethical standard, ability to work successfully in multi-gender team.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Having served as Managing Director or CEO / Head of Operations or Chief Operating Officer of a BSEC licensed merchant bank or asset management company, with a track record.
∎ 10+ years of work experience in a financial institution / merchant bank, particularly in finance & accounts.
∎ Ability to form relationships with counterparts and mid-level clients and stakeholders to exchange.
∎ Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
∎ Fluency in English required.
