Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ Samaj Kallayan O Unnayan Shangstha (SKUS) envisions a peaceful, prosperous, and poverty-free society that ensures everyone`s basic needs and rights. SKUS has, since the 2017 Rohingya refugee influx, worked in Cox`s Bazar district with children, adolescents, women, and men. Based on children`s, adolescents`, women`s, and human rights. SKUS has established quality learning and protection centers with support from different international donors, including UN agencies.

∎ SKUS is implementing the "Safeguarding women`s and Children`s Rights in the Rohingya Refugee Crisis in Ukhiya Sub-district in Bangladesh" project with the support of KNH-Germany- BMZ. The project aims to improve the well-being of women, children, and adolescents of refugee camps and the host community. The project also aims to secure their livelihoods and improve their ability to organize themselves.
∎ SKUS is looking for a suitable candidate for the immediate appointment of Manager, Social Cohesion and Youth Work for the project as mentioned above, supported by KNH-Germany and BMZ. The Manager Social Cohesion and Youth Work position are responsible for leading the overall Social Cohesion and Youth interventions. S/he will lead and manage the Cohesion and Youth team in the Host community and Rohingya refugee camp in Ukhiya of Cox`s Bazar district maintaining close collaboration with individual project staff through planning, implementing, and managing the delivery as per the project`s objectives and work plan. He/She will also closely work with other project team members of the project, other project teams, relevant government officials, private sector, non-government, and civil society organizations.
∎ Contract Duration: Initially April 2021 to March 2022, with funds secured up to August 2024

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Roles and Responsibilities
∎ Develop a strategy for social cohesion, peaceful coexistence, and youth work, identifying contextualized opportunities for exchange and peaceful coexistence.
∎ Develop conflict analysis considering the Bangladeshi and refugee communities involved with recommendations for the implementation of concrete activities.
∎ Orient, all stakeholders about the Cohesion and Youth intervention in the area before implementation.
∎ Planning, monitoring, implementing and reporting social cohesion and youth activities at the local level in consultation with local communities and stakeholders.
∎ Develop and refine training modules and guidelines relating to social cohesion and youth.
∎ Monitor the work of the Youth Organizers and Community Facilitator, Youth and Social Cohesion in terms of quantity and quality.
∎ Mentor and nurture the Youth organizers and Community facilitators to do their work well despite difficulties and hardships in the field.
∎ Maintain programmatic cooperation with other managers, colleagues, and other team members to create and use project-internal synergies.
∎ Prepared monthly, quarterly, and annually target-wise result-oriented reports to donors and other stakeholders.
∎ Keep the management informed of the implementation in the field in coordination with the Project Coordinator.
∎ Organize national and international day celebrations.
∎ Provide training and orientation to the stakeholders as laid out in the workplan.
∎ Perform other official tasks, as and when required, for the greater interest of the project/organization.
∎ Follow and maintain the disciplines properly as mentioned in the HR Policies & Procedures of SKUS.
∎ Work in the true spirit of teamwork, preserve personal integrity, and respect the organizational hierarchy of accountability.
∎ Establish Network with different partners working on cohesion and youth.

∎ Experience in women, peace, and security initiatives with a comprehensive understanding of international standards for promoting women's role in peace processes
∎ Communication (Verbal & Written) skills to work autonomously and plan meetings as per the project objectives and activities.

∎ Skills and Knowledge :
∎ Experience in technical support related to conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and related work on gender equality, women participation, and leadership in a developing country context.
∎ youth economic empowerment, vocational skill development, citizen journalism/social media, promoting culture.
∎ Community Mobilization, advocacy and networking
∎ Understanding of issues and challenges related to conflict, democracy, ethnic and religious tolerance.
∎ Experience in decision-making positions, advocacy, and influencing a range of decision-makers, e.g., national governments, intergovernmental organizations, UN organizations.
∎ Excellent communication and social skills and the ability to work closely with various stakeholders in a developing country and non-English speaking context.
∎ Ability to work independently as well as with multiple stakeholders in a time-pressured environment.
∎ Training facilitation skills.

∎ Additional Requirements :
∎ Practical field experience in safeguarding women and children's protection, psychosocial programming in emergency or development context.
∎ A clear concept related to the Safeguarding policy and PSEA is required.
∎ Strong knowledge of child protection, Gender, GBV, MHPSS issues.
∎ Practical experience in training and group facilitation.
∎ Experience in conducting field-based baseline assessments.
∎ Advanced knowledge of written English is required, strong computer skills, including Microsoft office.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 83000 (Monthly)
