Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's in English, Social Science (like Development Studies, Public Policy, Sociology, Anthropology, Population Science, Environmental Science, Geography etc.) or relevant area of study.

Job Context:
∎ Contract Duration: One-year renewable contract with Waterkeepers Bangladesh (WKB), administered by BPI
∎ Contract Starts: As soon as possible
∎ Reporting to: Coordinator, Waterkeepers Bangladesh

Job Responsibilities:
∎ To oversee and provide strategic support and guidance on research management and development.
∎ To oversee the current research portfolio, lead the development and implementation of strategic plans aligning with the research strategy of WKB under guidance of the Coordinator.
∎ To explore needs, opportunities for BPI and WKA to work strategically in Bangladesh in line with the country's implementation plan.
∎ To oversee, facilitate and lead the processes of effective planning and implementation of the country's strategic plan, BPI research strategy and other overarching strategies and plans relevant to BPI's vision and mission.
∎ To facilitate the development and revision of proposals, new initiatives and concept notes.
∎ To coordinate decision making processes, ensuring compliance with organization's priorities. Also, facilitate the processes of consortium project proposal development and management.
∎ To monitor and evaluate the implementation of BPI/WKA funded programs.
∎ To support the development and implementation of effective R & I and learning systems.
∎ To ensure organizational compliance with national statutory requirements and laws, the agreements with any regional and International office and networks.
∎ To prepare regular Reports, to be submitted to the coordinator.
∎ To prepare timely reports for the donor and NGOB on project progress and impact according to requirements.
∎ Team Building.
∎ To design and participate in the recruitment, training, workshop and other organizational activities.
∎ To conduct intensive secondary research on data collection, compilation, producing reports, developing training modules and conducting workshops according to the action plan under the guidance of the reporting authority.
∎ To develop reports, presentations and documentaries.
∎ To facilitate develop team building capacities of the research team to meet the complex programmatic needs.
∎ To motivate, educate and equip the team to perform the assigned role and excel in their respective focal areas.
∎ To troubleshoot issues of team performance quickly and efficiently, in accordance with BPI HR Standards

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in designing and implementing research activities.
∎ Experience in business plan development in line with the sectoral priorities.
∎ Experience in successfully managing project activities and field teams.
∎ Experience in successfully managing and overseeing qualitative and quantitative research in research management.
∎ Experience in successfully managing staff and research contracts.
∎ Extensive experience of proposal development and project design. Incumbent should have excellent skill of articulating innovative project ideas aligning with organizational research strategies and priorities.
∎ Interest and experience in organizing community actions for protect the environment.
∎ Experience in Donor relations and networking.
∎ Familiarity with key development and humanitarian aid donors.
∎ Broader understanding on contemporary socioeconomic, sociopolitical and development issues affecting the lives of the people at risk - especially persons with di, climate change, Sustainable Development Goals, Economic Empowerment.
∎ Languages: High proficiency in business English and Bangla both oral and written format.
∎ Tools: Excellent command on computer knowledge. Have outstanding skills and expertise on virtual communication.
