Strong written and spoken English.
Knowledge of International Trade, Import-Export Procedures, UCP 600, Incoterms, and Bangladesh Bank regulations.
Experience in LC operations, TT payments, and trade documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Ability to coordinate with foreign buyers, suppliers, and banks independently.
This position is often a bridge between the company’s Commercial Department, Foreign Buyers/Suppliers, and Banks, ensuring smooth international business operations.
Handle International Communications
Manage all correspondence with overseas buyers, suppliers, agents, banks, freight forwarders, and regulatory authorities.
Draft, review, and respond to emails, letters, and official communications.
Export & Import Coordination
Coordinate export and import activities with foreign clients and suppliers.
Monitor shipment schedules and ensure timely execution of orders.
Letter of Credit (L/C) Management
Handle opening, amendment, negotiation, and settlement of import and export L/Cs.
Verify L/C terms and conditions and coordinate with banks.
International Trade Documentation
Prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, insurance documents, and other trade-related documents.
Ensure documentation complies with international trade regulations.
Buyer & Supplier Relationship Management
Maintain regular communication with existing international buyers and suppliers.
Develop and strengthen business relationships with overseas partners.
Order Processing & Follow-up
Receive purchase orders from foreign customers.
Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics departments to ensure timely delivery.
Banking & Financial Coordination
Liaise with banks regarding foreign remittances, export proceeds realization, and import payments.
Monitor TT, LC, CAD, and other international payment methods.
Shipping & Logistics Management
Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and clearing & forwarding agents.
Track shipments and resolve logistics-related issues.
Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Bank regulations, customs requirements, and international trade laws.
Maintain compliance with export-import policies and company procedures.
Market Research & Business Development
Research international markets and identify potential buyers and suppliers.
Support export market expansion initiatives.
Trade Fair & International Meetings
Coordinate participation in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and virtual meetings.
Arrange communication and documentation for foreign business visits.
Contract Review & Administration
Review sales contracts, purchase agreements, and international business terms.
Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled by all parties.
Internal Coordination
Work closely with Production, Commercial, Procurement, Accounts, and Management departments.
Provide updates on international business activities.
Reporting
Prepare periodic reports on exports, imports, correspondence status, shipments, and outstanding payments.
Present reports to senior management.
Team Supervision
Supervise officers and executives involved in international correspondence and commercial activities.
Train staff on international trade procedures and documentation.
