Job Context:
∎ About HEED Handicrafts: HEED Handicrafts is a self-depended project of HEED Bangladesh (a national NGO), working since 1978. The project was formed to support rural artisan and producers around in Bangladesh with Handicrafts production and marketing in home and abroad. The impact of that view, artisans are getting direct benefit as well as improving their life style with the activities.
∎ Beneficiaries: More than 10,000 artisans of 300 groups from all over the country are the target beneficiary of HEED Handicrafts. About 60% female in the gender ratio.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall
∎ 1. Overall responsibilities to manage and control the Handicraft project as a responsible person.
∎ 2. Prepare regular monthly action plan, business plan, product costing, cost analysis, target achievement and SWOT analysis of Handicraft and prepare report for Director-Operations (every month)
∎ 3. Plan and communication of regular liaison with local and foreign buyers for increase business
∎ 4. Regular field visit action plan for producers’ group development and to implement new policy for sustainable of handicraft
∎ 5. Meet up all the requirement of H&M and other buyers in regular basis
∎ 6. Prepare yearly budget, planning as an efficient activity.
∎ 7. Regular conducted meeting with different department, all senior, responsible staffs, security staff and all other staffs to share the running productions, present condition and the ideas for future development plan for the HEED Handicraft.
∎ 8. Monthly evaluate all the performances of the employees and recommend to the management as per evaluation score and send it to Director-Operations on monthly personal performance of all staff mandatory
∎ 9. Prepare the documents for Cash Incentive against export.
∎ 10. Monitor and check performance of Merchandise team and Quality Assurance team to ensure the quality of product
∎ 11. Check weekly accounts and financial issue with communication with Accounts officer and send monthly report to Director-Finance
∎ Supervise merchandise and quality
∎ 12. Work closely together with designers to decide how items should be displayed in website and show other buyers in order to maximize customer interest and product sales of HEED Handicraft.
∎ 13. Regular and need based meeting with merchandise and quality team for present situation of sell and foreign buyers for increase business
∎ 14. Regular communication with different produces and buyers for good communication and understanding for their needs
∎ Ensure compliance with purchasing and contracting regulations
∎ 15. Implement and monitor HEED Handicraft activities in compliance with legal contracting and purchasing legislations and requirement of different buyers
∎ 16. Regular communication with different Governmental authority like Fire Service and Civil Defense, BSCIC, Department of Environment and City Corporation for different negotiation and advocacy on behalf of HEED Bangladesh
∎ 17. Keep close contact with Bangla craft, Export Promotion Bureau, Ecota Trade Fair Forum, CBI (Export Marketing Coaching) and participate different fair, conference, meeting etc. for valuable idea sharing.
∎ Apply health and safety standards
∎ 18. Adhere to standards of hygiene and safety measures and issues established by respective authorities.
∎ 19. Ensure regular health and hygiene issue in all types of staff safety, security and pandemic situation.
∎ Oversee promotional sales prices
∎ 20. Ensure that sale prices and promotions are passed through the register as they should.
∎ Policy and Advocacy:
∎ 21. Support the development of policy and advocacy initiatives within the project with consultation with Director-Operations
∎ 22. Support the design, quality and production of policy and advocacy related materials assigned by Director-Operations
∎ 23. Support and participate in the documentation of project activities at local, national and international levels, including lessons learnt and best practices assigned by Director-Operations
∎ Uphold Host organization values and compliance organizational principles:
∎ 24. Internalize and practice of organizational core values and principles.
∎ 25. Ensure compliance of HEED Handicraft & HEED Bangladesh policies at all aspects.
∎ 26. Promote appropriate organizational culture and be role models for other in the team and other partners
∎ 27. Attend different types of meeting, workshop assign by Director –Operations
∎ 28. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 50 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ • Strong knowledge in factory management, quality check and handle with buyers
∎ • Strong knowledge on Presentation, communication and documentation
∎ • Good computer skills on MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
∎ • Professional fluency in English - both written and verbal.
∎ • Able to undertake travel if required.
