Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Review production plan and order requirements to create a daily and weekly cutting plan.
∎ Allocate cutting capacity based on style complexity, fabric type, and delivery timelines.
∎ Coordinate with merchandising, fabric store, and production planning teams to ensure timely fabric availability and marker approvals.
∎ Analyze and plan for fabric shrinkage, shade variation, and special fabric requirements.
∎ Review markers received from CAD/marker team for optimal fabric utilization.
∎ Approve markers for bulk cutting ensuring proper grain line, pattern alignment, and matching requirements (stripes, checks, etc.).
∎ Ensure correct fabric consumption is calculated and updated in the system.
∎ Monitor and supervise all cutting operations including laying, cutting, notching, numbering, bundling, and panel distribution.
∎ Set up SOPs for manual, semi-automatic, and automatic cutting techniques depending on fabric and order requirements.
∎ Ensure correct layering height, ply count, tension control, and machine condition.
∎ Optimize fabric usage to minimize wastage without compromising quality.
∎ Maintain accurate records of fabric received, cut, and balance fabric.
∎ Identify root causes of excess consumption or fabric loss and implement corrective actions.
∎ Ensure cutting quality by checking for accurate dimensions, pattern alignment, and defect-free cut panels.
∎ Coordinate with QA team to ensure quality checkpoints in the cutting process.
∎ Identify defects in fabric or cutting errors and take immediate corrective measures.
∎ Develop work schedules, assign responsibilities, and ensure productivity targets are met.
∎ Ensure adherence to safety protocols and fire regulations within the cutting section.
∎ Promote 5S and lean manufacturing practices to improve workplace organization and efficiency.
∎ Maintain proper documentation and comply with buyer-specific requirements and audits.
∎ Any other task assign by the management.
