• Proficiency in fabric optimisation techniques.

• Strong leadership and people management skills.

• Advanced knowledge of fabric types, shrinkage, markers, and cutting methods.    

• Analytical and decision-making capabilities.

• Excellent communication and interdepartmental coordination.

• Process-driven with a focus on quality and efficiency.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and production software.

• Develop and implement daily and weekly cutting schedules aligned with the master production plan.

• Supervise all pre-cutting processes, including fabric inspection, shrinkage testing, lay planning, and marker approvals.

• Monitor and control the flow of cutting activities to ensure timely feeding to sewing lines.

• Optimise fabric utilisation through strategic marker planning in coordination with CAD and planning teams.

• Review fabric consumption data to ensure adherence to budgeted allowances and minimise wastage.

• Ensure systematic fabric laying, cutting, and bundling to avoid shade variation and identification errors.

• Enforce strict quality control protocols to ensure precision in cutting as per pattern specifications and size sets.

• Investigate and address any discrepancies in cut panels, lay defects, or material faults.

• Collaborate with Quality, Pattern, and Sample departments for continuous process improvement.

• Lead and manage a team comprising supervisors, cutters, spreaders, helpers, and CAD operators.

• Coordinate closely with the merchandising, CAD, fabric store, planning, and sewing departments to ensure alignment and issue resolution.

• Participate in pre-production meetings (PPM) to understand technical requirements and delivery expectations.

• Maintain accurate records of fabric issuance, cutting output, wastage reports, and manpower efficiency.

• Prepare and present daily and weekly MIS reports to management for performance monitoring and planning.

• Any other task assigned by the management.
