Job Responsibilities:
∎ The role
∎ This position will have the responsibility for overall managing and provide guidance to the Urban Resilience Project. In this capacity, s/he will directly contribute in planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities and also support fellow Save the Children staff and coordinators of partner NGOs for successful implementation of activities. As it is a consortium project, s/he should have the capacity to keep continuous communication with consortium partners. S/he needs to work with government stakeholders and other concerned authorities in urban locations of Dhaka and Naryangonj to identify the gaps and take steps to increase the capacity of those stakeholders to address those challenges. As the project focuses on advocacy at national level to address urban hazards, especially earthquake, s/he will lead the consortium on these issues, including organize the documentation and evidence at field le vel and accountable and responsible for developing appropriate messages for climate change/resilience. The Manager will manage the overall project budget and compile progress reports for donor.
∎ Qualifications and experience
∎ * AT least 6 years’ working experience, preferably in the areas of, disaster risk reduction, including 3 years in managerial position
∎ * Working experience in consortia programming
∎ * Excellent written communications including report writing, proposal development
∎ * Strong management/supervisory skills
∎ * Financial/budget management skills
∎ * Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet
∎ * Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
∎ * Master’s Degree, preferably in Social Sciences/Environmental Science/MDS/DRM, or related discipline

∎ Business : The role
The Project Manager-DRR and EiE is mainly responsible for the overall implementation, monitoring, and supervision of EiE and DRR activities in Multi Purpose Cyclone Shelter (MPCS) and adjacent communities. S/he will supervise Project Officer/Senior Project Officer- EiE and DRR to implementation of EiE and DRR interventions and maintain accountability of the project activities following Save the Children and core humanitarian Standard. S/he will also provide support and enhance the capacity of government, partners and respective project staffs, including overall monitor their activities. The incumbent will provide technical inputs into the development, implementation and monitoring of the project and maintain close coordination with Save the Children field unit and collaboration with implementing partners.
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum 6 years of working experience, preferably in Education in Emergency (EiE) response, recovery and rehabilitation including Disaster Risk Reduction, including 3 years in management position.
* Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects related to DRR and EiE for children and young people, with a policy influencing dimension and proven experience on managing large projects.
* Excellent capacity building skill, especially the partners
* Ability to work in any situation during emergency
* Skill on expenditure tracking and monitoring
* Excellent communication skills in English & Bangla with the ability to produce quality analytical reports
* Master’s Degree, preferably in Disaster Management/Development Studies or relevant fields
