Responsibilities & Context:
- Lead, train and manage the sewing & mechanical maintenance team (mechanics, helpers) assigned to the lingerie lines.
- Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) plans are defined and executed for all sewing machines, overlock/serger, bar tackers, underwire feeders, bonding/taping machines, elastic feed systems, and non-sew equipment (compressors, exhaust, boilers as applicable).
- Rapid troubleshooting and root-cause analysis when breakdowns occur; reduce MTTR through spares readiness and technician upskilling.
- Maintain spares inventory: define critical spares list, reorder levels, and spare-part cost control.
- Coordinate machine installation, attachments/modifications and vendor support for specialized lingerie equipment (e.g., underwire insertion, bonding / ultrasonic welders, cup-molding machines).
- Implement and maintain documentation: machine logs, PM checklists, breakdown reports, spare consumption reports, and CAPEX proposals.
- Work closely with IE/Production/Quality teams on line balancing, new product machine trials, and process improvements to minimize downtime and rejects.
- Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards in the maintenance area, lead risk assessments for machinery.
- Manage contractors / third-party vendors for larger mechanical/electrical repair jobs and capital installations.
