∎ Duty station :Project Area, Nilphamari
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Senior Livelihood Officer of BDRCS, the Livelihood Officer is responsible to support all the activities in women empowerment project related to Livelihood and project objectives in the operational area. This includes provision of quality assurance of operations and supporting National Society capacity development.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Working for the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) to ensure effective and timely implementation of Women Empowerment Program (WEP) in the project area as laid out in the project objectives, log frame and Plan of Actions.
∎ Develop monthly/quarterly/annual action plan in consultation with project team for implementation and share with responsible officer at NHQ
∎ Support beneficiary's identification and selection processes together with BDRCS-IFRC WEP implementation team.
∎ Regularly monitor project activities at field level and provide timely inputs and feedback to the BDRCS-IFRC WEP implementation team.
∎ Coordinate and facilitate or assist the facilitation of capacity building for the WEP in livelihoods, with awareness sessions, face to face trainings, simulations and learning by doing exercises.
∎ Ensure and support to implement the market-based intervention, market linkage etc. as well as conduct cash feasibility and market assessment, and other relevant studies in the field.
∎ Set up a clear beneficiary follow-up mechanism to maintain quality and accountability with support of BDRCS-IFRC CEA team and ensures that appropriate follow-ups are made to support beneficiary.
∎ Compile and submit regular project updates.
∎ Assist line manager/BDRCS in the preparation of all documents and forms necessary for the implementation of the WEP project, support BDRCS and IFRC in documenting case studies, stories, visibility etc. and assist in profiling good practice.
∎ Support effective coordination, collaboration and networking within and beyond the BDRCS with the Govt. and local agencies for all issues related to Women Empowerment Program (WEP).
∎ To integrate Livelihoods into the plans and programmes; using and adapting the BDRCS Policy, Frameworks, standards and tools.
∎ Facilitate to develop and manage women savings fund.
∎ Prepare monthly progress, updates, Project activities report implemented at community level and share with PIC and send to NHQ.
∎ Provide any other support as required by line manager and management of BDRCS.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3years' experience of successfully implementing and coordinating gender focus development program that include market-based livelihood intervention in at least one context and preferably within the RC/RC Movement
∎ Demonstrated experience in Livelihoods programming in emergency, recovery and development contacts
∎ At least 2years' experience in women empowerment or disaster resilience
∎ Previous experience of working with the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement
∎ Experience in strategy development, developing tools and guidance, providing technical assistance and in establishing and maintaining networks
∎ Ability to work within operational policies & procedures and maintain confidentiality
∎ Excellent communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to represent the International Federation and to negotiate and influence people's opinions
∎ Technical training in design, implementation and monitoring cash transfer programming
∎ Proven training and facilitation skills
∎ Leadership skills and experience
∎ Knowledge of technical aspects of disaster preparedness, relief and recovery and of key donor and partner organizations
∎ Strong organizational skills
∎ Demonstrate flexibility and open mindedness with innovative and creative thinking
∎ Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
∎ Strong commitment to upholding the Fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
∎ Computer knowledge as a user - self-supporting in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
∎ Ability to travel extensively and spent significant periods of time in the event of a major emergency or assigned areas
∎ Languages:
∎ Fluently spoken and written English
∎ Other languages: Bengali

Salary:
∎ Upto 50,000/- (Consolidated monthly honorarium)
