Experience:
Diploma in Medical Technology (3 Years per previous curriculum and 4 years per the revised curriculum) under State Medical Faculty of Bangladesh (SMFB) or Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) and certificate issued by the same authority is essential.
Minimum 1 year of working experience as a Laboratory Technician is essential.
English (reading, writing, speaking) is desirable.
Ability to speak and understand Chittagonian dialect is desirable.
Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).

Job Context: Perform clinical laboratory activities according to MSF protocols, security and hygiene measures in order to obtain results to determine the patient’s treatment.
Job Responsibilities:
According to medical prescription, preparing and performing clinical exams/tests with appropriate techniques and following MSF protocols and procedures.
Taking blood & urine samples according to the medical prescription.
Centrifuging blood and urine samples.
Performing laboratory exams (serology, hematology, biochemistry, bacteriology or parasitological, according to context of the mission).
Ensuring proper reporting and registration of the sample results in order to keep a written track of activity and give information to the relevant persons, ensuring confidentiality.
Taking care, manage and organize efficiently the laboratory material/equipment.
Perform cleaning and minor maintenance for biomedical equipment used. Following the user manual and protocols and alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning.
Applying hygiene and safety protocols, doing daily cleaning /maintenance, sterilization, washing general glassware after procedures are done.
Ensuring proper sample waste disposal according to MSF protocols and highest safety standards.
Supplying orders, do stock, storage conditions follow-up, keep inventory.
Keeping organized the data collection system of laboratory results and all information generated from the analysis done.
Reporting all relevant information linked to the activity in the laboratory to the line manager, especially the loss/robbery/damage of laboratory equipment or medicines.
Performing minor maintenance and cleaning of the biomedical equipment following user manual and protocols. Alerting the supervisor in case of malfunctioning of any device.
Following up with the level of stock with supervisor to adhere to the contingency plan when necessary to avoid ruptures.
Reporting immediately to the line manager ruptures, loss, robbery in the stock, and damage to the machines.
Keeping confidentiality about the results of the lab exams, following the established routines to avoid exposure of the patient.
Perform internal and external quality control activities in accordance with MSF standards, conduct weekly and monthly quality control checks of biomedical equipment, and maintain proper documentation and records.
Performing urine and stool microscopy according to MSF protocol.
Performing hepatitis C viral load by GeneXpert machine according to the MSF protocols.
Maintaining proper documentation in the register book and keeping the maintenance sheet updated after the maintenance.
Respect the cold chain protocols while transporting the samples for testing.
Inform the clinicians of any significant results as soon as possible.
Ensure daily verification and signing of laboratory reports and timely delivery of reports to the clinicians.
Handles the patient with care and respect during the sample collection.
Using the correct PPE to avoid contamination and cross-infection.
Keeping the workstation clean and tidy according to the routines.
Referring to the supervisor, patient complaints.

* Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction at source will be applicable based on the current income tax rule.
