Responsibilities & Context:

• Sample Management: Collecting, processing, and analyzing biological specimens like blood, urine, and tissue.

• Testing and Analysis: Conducting routine and specialized tests, including cross-matching blood, identifying bacteria, and testing drug levels.

• Quality Control (QC): Calibrating and maintaining laboratory instruments, as well as performing QC checks on tests to ensure accuracy.

• Data Reporting: Interpreting test findings and entering accurate, detailed data into patient records or computer systems.

• Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety and infection control procedures, such as biosafety level protocols (BSL-2) and proper waste disposal.

• Inventory Control: Monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies.

• Troubleshooting: Identifying and correcting errors in test systems or equipment.

• Collaboration: Informing doctors and nurses of critical results and assisting with laboratory protocols.

• Training: Assisting with the training and mentoring of new lab staff or students.
