Job Context:
∎ Strategic holdings, one of the leading conglomerates of the country is eyeing to venture into the media business. We are planning to build a state of the art media joint, starting with the launch of a web portal. The web portal will be a one-stop destination for news and currents affairs. From politics to entertainment and from international affairs to sports, it will contain all. Also, there will be various digital online contents, and shows which will cater to a wider audience. The company believes that this effort will be the first of a kind in the country.
∎ To achieve our goal, we are looking for young, talented, multi-tasking and hardworking team members.
∎ Job Location: Dhaka at group corporate office but if needed must willing to go outside of Dhaka.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Collect, verify and analyze thoroughly newsworthy information
∎ Assemble findings into a stable story
∎ Write and deliver news stories with the reader's perspective in mind
∎ Publish or broadcast news stories
∎ Receive assignments or investigate news leads/tips
∎ Abide by journalism's ethics and codes
∎ Contact, interview and research sources
∎ Maintain notes and audio recordings
∎ Cooperate with chief editor, producers etc
∎ Stay up-to-date with the latest current events in the "beat" by studying papers, attending events etc.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s) for senior reporters
∎ At least 2 year(s) for junior reporters
∎ Portfolio of published articles or newscasts
∎ Ability to gather, write and edit news
∎ Broad knowledge of headlines
∎ Computer proficiency (MS Office, digital editing, web search, databases)
∎ Excellent communication, liaison and active listening skills
∎ Integrity and morality
∎ Proven working experience as a Reporter
