∎ Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in auditing, preferably in NGOs or donor-funded projects, at least 1 year of experience in the relevant field.
∎ Good reporting skill in English and verbal & written communication with the donors and other agency.
∎ Excellent skills using commonly used software MS Word, MS Excel, internet and email communication.
∎ Have experience working under stress conditions and meeting deadlines

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop and execute internal audit plans covering all LEDARS projects and organizational operations.
∎ Review financial records, vouchers, invoices, and documentation to verify legitimacy and appropriateness of expenditures.
∎ Review financial management systems, including accounting systems, budgeting and planning, financial reporting, cash and bank management, and grants and donor fund management.
∎ Monitor proper utilization of project funds and conduct variance analysis of budgets vs expenditures.
∎ Review financial reports, ledger entries, and bank reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
∎ Verify compliance with statutory regulations including tax, labor laws, NGOAB rules, and legal issues.
∎ Ensure proper documentation, tagging, and management of fixed and current assets.
∎ Monitor and audit all LEDARS assets, inventories, ensuring proper documentation, usage, and disposal as per policy.
∎ Conduct physical verification of assets, inventories periodically and report to the LEDARS Management.
∎ Identify internal control weaknesses, policy non-compliance, and potential risks in financial and operational systems, and provide recommendations for effective mitigation
∎ Ensure that control systems are effective in preventing fraud, mismanagement, and misuse of resources.
∎ Provide training and guidance to project and finance team on internal control and compliance matters.
∎ Support management in updating and implementing financial, operational policies and internal audit tools, based on audit findings.
∎ Prepare detailed internal audit reports with findings, analysis, and actionable recommendations.
∎ Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
∎ Job context:
∎ LEDARS (Local Environment Development and Agricultural Research Society), an NGO registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau, has been working in the climate-vulnerable southwest coastal region of Bangladesh since 1996. The region faces severe challenges due to the adverse impacts of climate change, affecting the lives and livelihoods of local communities. Since inception, LEDARS has played an important role in the development of community in climate resilient livelihood, WASH, Human Rights, Environmental Conservation, influence of the policy actor, etc. for sustainability. Till now LEDARS has recognized some national and internation prizes for its innovation and achievements. To foster the mission, LEDARS is going to appoint a proactive and experienced “Internal Auditor” to strengthening the internal control system of LEDARS. This is a senior level position, serving as a key person in the internal audit team. The following are the major job requirements of this post.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Salary is negotiable for highly experienced candidates.
