Job Context:
∎ Arannayk Foundation (AF) is a not-for-profit organization devoted to forest and biodiversity conservation in Bangladesh since 2003. It has applied for a fund under the USAID Local Works Bangladesh Activities to undertake a project on conservation and rehabilitation of forests/tree cover in Ukhia, Cox`s Bazar, where massive deforestation and degradation of forests have taken place due to the influx of the forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals (Rohingya). The project will mainly focus on sustainable livelihood development of the affected poor people in the host communities through technical skills and market linkage development for diversified income generating activities and on capacity development of local institutions on forest conservation. The project is expected to start from April 2020 and its duration will be 3 (three) years.
∎ Duty Station: Dhaka with frequent visit to Cox`s Bazar.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Subject to the donor's approval of the proposed project, the AF intends to hire one 'Human and Institutional Development Specialist' for the same. The main tasks for this position would be, but not necessarily limited to, the following:
∎ Prepare methodological guidelines for project staff on mobilization and institutional development of community-based organizations (CBOs) including preparation of by-laws and revolving loan fund management manual of the CBOs
∎ Oversee implementation of project activities on organizational and management capacity development of the CBOs by the field team(s)
∎ Identify training needs of field-level project staff, community development volunteers (CDVs), co-management committee (CMC) and other community-based organizations
∎ Prepare training modules and manuals in collaboration with the technical experts of the project
∎ Organize training and other learning events for project staff, CDVs and project participants
∎ Prepare training reports in collaboration with the concerned technical experts and training facilitators
∎ Plan and implement periodic assessment of HID capacity development of CMCs and other CBOs
∎ Document success stories of the project and plan measures to disseminate them in collaboration with M&E Specialist
∎ Prepare periodic progress reports as required of the project
∎ Plan, organize and supervise communication materials development, printing and publishing works involving service providers (contractors)
∎ Perform any other task within the purview of the project plan as assigned by the Project Director.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ At least 03 (three) years' of relevant experience, especially in IEC materials development, report writing and mass communication activities
∎ Skills in common Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Additional skill in graphics design and desktop publishing software (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, MS Publisher, etc.) will get preference.
∎ Proven skills in IEC material designing and report writing.
Salary: Tk. 70000 - 76000 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ The gross monthly salary for the position will be within the range of Tk 70,000 - Tk 76,000. In addition, festival bonus will be given, which is equivalent to one month's salary per year.
