HFH Bangladesh is currently looking for interested and qualified candidates for the position.
∎ Habitat for Humanity International`s strategy for housing finance in the Asia Pacific (AP) calls for an expanded role in market approaches to housing improvement for low-income communities in Bangladesh. HFHI AP office has also recently launched the Financial Inclusion Innovation Facility (FIIF) that the housing finance system team will manage. It will be housed within Habitat`s Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter. The proposed position of the Housing Finance Manager in Bangladesh is an outcome of having a dedicated strategy for Bangladesh to help improve access to housing finance for low-income families.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall Responsibilities:
∎ The Housing Finance Manager will be responsible for implementing the financial inclusion strategy for Bangladesh and providing inputs for further developing the strategy. The person will find ways and partnerships to improve access to housing finance for low-income households and multiply Habitat's impact in this space. The person will be working closely with the financial institutions and assisting them in developing/refining housing finance products. The manager may also be engaged in community finance programs and services and provide support in improving services and systems. The position will also support a new and evolving work of the housing finance system in the country.
∎ Financial Inclusion

∎ Guides the implementation of Financial Inclusion Strategy in Bangladesh and provide inputs for further developing the strategy.
∎ Work closely with financial intermediaries in Bangladesh (including microfinance institutions, digital platforms, FinTechs, NGOs, community-based organizations and banks) by
∎ Conducting the institutional assessment (IA) and preparing the IA reports and technical assistance plan proposals,
∎ Assisting the FSPs to develop/refine housing microfinance products by delivering a range of advisory services such as market design, process mapping, product design, pilot planning, and training.
∎ Developing housing support services, and
∎ Monitoring and evaluation of pilot-testing and overall project.
∎ Take a role in community finance mechanism development/improvement by assisting communities and individuals to help each other to find innovative financial solutions.
∎ Work closely with NO Bangladesh by providing support in domains agreed with the HFS leadership and be responsible for quality assurance of deliverables in the NO's housing and financial inclusion projects and initiatives.
∎ An analytical approach to overseeing and managing budget,
∎ Donor identification and proposal development.
∎ Project Management:
∎ Manage the financial inclusion partnerships in the country by serving as a project manager for the engagements.
∎ Implements and monitors key strategic metrics such as Standards of Excellence (SOE) and Global Matrix Tool (GMT) for housing finance.
∎ Responsible for the quality of deliverables produced under various advisory and technical assistance partnerships.
∎ Networking and Representation:
∎ Influences the country's sector to allocate more capital in housing by sharing learnings and experience from Habitat's financial inclusion initiatives.
∎ Knowledge Management:
∎ Prepare technical briefs, reports, and presentations after synthesizing learnings from across the FI projects and help position HFHI as a thought leader in the affordable housing finance space.
∎ General:
∎ Comply with HFHI policies and practice with respect to safeguarding, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Around Minimum five (5) years of experience in microfinance, housing finance or inclusive finance related business. Previous job experience in microfinance and Community finance experience is preferred.
∎ Minimum three (3) years of experience in delivery of consulting service and/or coaching.
∎ Minimum three (3) years of experience in managing projects.
∎ English Language Proficiency - The ability to speak, understand and write fluently in English.
∎ Experience in developing and managing projects - Demonstrates ability to define projects and initiatives and monitor implementation for effective realization of intended benefits and outcomes; Manage project budgets; and Deliver reports on time.
∎ Experience in balancing the needs and interests of various stakeholders and the broader organization.
∎ Training skills - Capacity to lead training sessions, and the creation of training session materials. Good people skills with the ability to communicate cross-culturally and work in teams. Understanding of HFHI current ministry and operations will be preferred
∎ Analytical skills and attention to detail - Identifies and analyzes situations and/or issues, considers options, develops, and decides on solutions, recommends and/or implements and monitors appropriate solutions.
∎ Sales - Demonstrates ability to package and successfully sell advisory ser/vices to market actors working with BOP communities and individuals. Capacity to write and oversee writing of technical proposals for grants and/or contracts.
∎ With existing network of key stakeholders in Bangladesh's financial inclusion industry
∎ Desired:
∎ Advance communication skills - Ability to communicate, affirm and apply the foundational values and principles of HFHI in decisions,
∎ recommendations and actions while carrying out work assignments.
∎ Written Communication - Expresses ideas, thoughts, and concepts clearly and effectively in writing.
∎ Leadership skills - Ability to act as a trusted advisor to financial institutions and other market actors, makes decisions, takes considering the available courses of action, overall organizational needs and the needs and values of others with minimum supervision.
∎ Teamwork - Works well in teams with a preference for transparency and collegial decision-making.
