Responsibilities & Context:
Develop and lead the R&D strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
Drive innovation by identifying new technologies, trends, and opportunities in the electrical engineering space.
Oversee the design, prototyping, testing, and development of new products or systems.
Ensure timely delivery of R&D projects within budget and to specification.
Collaborate with product management and marketing teams to translate customer needs into product features.
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing R&D team of engineers and technicians.
Stay updated on technological advancements and integrates relevant technologies into the R&D pipeline.
Implement R&D best practices, development frameworks (e.g., Agile, Stage-Gate), and quality assurance processes.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and certifications.
Drive continuous improvement in R&D methodologies and product quality.
Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and customer service teams.
Act as the technical representative in customer and stakeholder meetings.
