Job Purpose
The Head of Quality, Compliance and HR is responsible for leading and integrating the institution’s quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and human resources functions. This role ensures that Essex School of Business maintains high academic and operational standards, complies with all relevant regulations, and fosters a high-performing, ethical, and people-centric organisational culture. The position plays a critical role in aligning institutional practices with global benchmarks while supporting staff development and organisational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Leadership
Develop and implement quality assurance frameworks to ensure continuous improvement in academic and administrative functions.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure adherence to institutional policies and external regulatory requirements, maintaining full compliance with applicable standards.
HR Strategy & Operations
Lead HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and staff development.
Policy Development & Implementation
Establish and maintain policies related to quality, compliance, and HR, ensuring consistency and transparency.
Audit & Risk Management
Conduct internal audits, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure institutional integrity and accountability.
Performance Management Systems
Oversee staff performance evaluation processes and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Training & Development
Design and implement staff training programs to enhance professional capabilities and compliance awareness.
Data Management & Reporting
Monitor KPIs and prepare reports on quality metrics, compliance status, and HR performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with senior leadership, academic departments, and external bodies to ensure alignment and best practices.
