Experience:

• Bachelor of Science (BSc)
• Master of Science (MSc)

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Medical Technology (preferably in Laboratory Medicine, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related field).

• Higher qualifications or specialized training in laboratory management or quality systems will be considered an added advantage.

• At least 7 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Hospital, Diagnostic Centre

• Only Male

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a diagnostic/molecular laboratory, with at least 4 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

• Experience in ISO-certified laboratory operations is mandatory.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• In-depth knowledge of laboratory safety and quality management systems.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in using laboratory information systems (LIS) and MS Office applications.

Job Context: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Lab Services to oversee the day-to-day operations of our ISO-certified Diagnostics & Molecular Laboratory. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Medical Technologist with proven expertise in laboratory management, quality control, and compliance with international standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise daily laboratory operations across all sections (Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Molecular, etc.).
• Ensure strict compliance with ISO standards, laboratory SOPs, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Monitor and maintain quality control (QC), proficiency testing, and equipment calibration schedules.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff to ensure professional performance and adherence to safety protocols.
• Oversee procurement, inventory management, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, reagents, and consumables.
• Coordinate with doctors, clients, and other departments for smooth and timely service delivery.
• Implement operational improvements to enhance workflow efficiency and reduce turnaround time (TAT).
• Prepare and maintain detailed operational, quality assurance, and management reports.
• Plan and manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage for all laboratory sections.
• Conduct internal audits and assist in preparing for external audits and accreditation inspections.
• Organize and conduct staff training sessions on laboratory techniques, quality standards, and safety practices.
• Ensure proper waste management, biosafety, and infection control measures are strictly followed.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and operational challenges to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
• Maintain proper documentation for traceability, audit readiness, and legal compliance.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans for laboratory growth and service excellence.
