Education:
∎ Advanced university degree from a reputed University in Law/Social Welfare/ Development Study.
∎ An MBA/Masters or equivalent degree in Law or the relevant field will be beneficial.

Requirements:

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years of senior management experience in a national or international and multicultural environment in the relevant field.
∎ Extensive experience in working with DIFE, DoL, ILO, and its related projects.
∎ Strong connectivity with leading labour leaders and federations in the RMG sector.
∎ Must have a very good career progression.
∎ In-depth knowledge of Bangladesh RMG Sector, Labour Management, and BGMEA work environment.
∎ Strong knowledge of the Bangladesh Labour Act 2006 and its amendments.
∎ A deep understanding of organizational dynamics and culture and how best to influence them.
∎ Strong analytical, strategic thinking and planning skills.
∎ Excellent English and Bangla language skills (speaking and writing).
∎ Strong and effective communication and negotiation skills to influence change and manage conflict, with sensitivity.
∎ Ability to take initiative.
∎ Positive and professional attitude towards organization, work, and colleagues.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ To collaborate with the ILO and other international organizations in labour and manpower management.
∎ Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Labour Act (BLA) and Bangladesh Labour Rules (BLR), along with other labour and employment regulations.
∎ Work effectively with the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) and the Department of Labour (DoL).
∎ To provide skill development and employment-oriented training in RMG sectors.
∎ To provide guidance to the Labour Rights Project and Better Work Program to ensure appropriate project management and completion in a timely manner.
∎ To ensure effective liaison with key agencies such as the Ministry of Labour and Employment, CIF, and the Department of Labour in the best interests of the RMG sector.
∎ To work on a policy roadmap to prevent and solve the labour crisis and maintain law and order situation in the RMG Sector.
∎ To maintain liaison with the registered labour federation and labour leaders as well as the employers’ federation.
∎ To work with BGMEA Sub-Committees of Compliance, Social Welfare, Child Labor, BATEXPO, AGM, EGM and General Meetings of BGMEA.
∎ To organize periodical meetings between BGMEA and different Labour Trade Union Federations to take necessary plans of action to reduce labour disputes.
∎ To supervise the departmental staff, manage their performance and ensure required skill development so that the staff can provide efficient services.
∎ To ensure performance management to affirm highest performance and development of succession plan to develop a second person in this department.
