Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Develop the organization’s financial well-being by creating financial projections, accounting services, and growth plans while guiding and managing finance team activities.
∎ Identify growth opportunities by analyzing economic trends, revenue prospects, and acquisition/expansion potential.
∎ Assess organizational operations to highlight areas for improvement, cost reduction, and system enhancements, securing capital to support growth.
∎ Plan financial strategies by forecasting resource needs (capital, facilities, staffing), identifying funding sources, and creating actionable plans.
∎ Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring robust disaster recovery plans, business insurance coverage, and health care analysis are in place.Strategic Operations:
∎ Serve as a strategic partner on the executive management team, contributing to key decisions and providing financial insights.
∎ Lead the budgeting process, including development of the annual operating and capital budgets for the organization.
∎ Establish and guide functional objectives to align with organizational goals, promoting strategic thinking within the finance department.
∎ Monitor and analyze financial performance, implementing corrective actions to address variances and enhance operational efficiency.
∎ Optimize returns on invested funds by identifying investment opportunities and fostering relationships with the investment community.Risk Management:
∎ Assess and mitigate key elements of the company’s financial risk profile, developing and monitoring reliable control systems.
∎ Report critical risk factors to the Management Committee and Board of Directors for informed decision-making.Management Reporting & Analytics:
∎ Coordinate fiscal reporting activities, including revenue/expense tracking, and manage reporting to funding agencies and organizational contracts.
∎ Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, conducting internal analyses to identify cost-saving and process enhancement opportunities.
∎ Evaluate company liabilities, investments, and capital structure, providing insight into fundraising initiatives and capital management.
∎ Financial Planning:
