Job Responsibilities:
∎ Position Profile: The Government Relations Advisor will establish and maintain strategic relationships and represent USAID's sponsored 'Shobai Miley Shikhi' Bangladesh in educational government institutions and departments including the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE), National Academy for Primary Education (NAPE), and local and regional level education offices under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (MoPME).

∎ The position will also be responsible for establishing relations to other relevant line ministries including MoE, Bangladesh Bank (BB), NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB), National Board of Revenue (NBR) etc. The position will also be responsible for ensuring statutory compliance relevant to NGOAB, BB, NBR etc. S/He will take the lead in the Foreign Donation (FD) application processes in close collaboration with the Partners, Program and Business Support team. In addition. S/He will keep management updated of any change in the government INGO regulation system and ensure adherence.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Twelve years of relevant experience working in this or a related field.
∎ Demonstrated experience working in the education sector in Bangladesh or education ministries of BGD.
∎ Experience implementing development programs - preferably with USAID -- including planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, problem-solving, and financial management will be an asset
∎ Demonstrated experience coordinating stakeholders, preferably in the education sector.
∎ Knowledge of the education issues related to effective implementation of improved instruction at the classroom level is a plus.
∎ Demonstrated capacity to manage complex relationships with government officials, I/NGOs, and funding agencies
∎ Excellent ability in communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills in Bangla and English
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability
∎ Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate personnel
∎ Excellent oral and written fluency in English and Bangla is required.
