Responsibilities & Context:

Position: General Manager (GM)

Location: Dhaka
Department: Fashion Group
Reports To: Managing Director / Chairman
Team Size: 350 employees across multiple departments

Overview

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operational activities across the Fashion Group’s departments. This includes ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, optimizing productivity, maintaining quality control, and fostering cross-departmental collaboration. The GM will act as the primary bridge between top management and departmental heads.


Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations across all departments (Sales, Production, Lab, Factory, Finance, HR, etc.).

  • Implement and monitor operational procedures and performance standards.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Identify process inefficiencies and introduce improvements for better workflow and cost control.

2. Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and mentor departmental heads and their teams.

  • Manage performance targets and KPIs for each department.

  • Conduct regular coordination meetings and ensure accountability.

  • Develop a culture of teamwork, discipline, and continuous improvement.

3. Financial Oversight

  • Cross-check and approve payment receipts, invoices, and expense reports.

  • Work closely with the Finance Department to monitor budgets and control costs.

  • Analyze monthly financial and operational reports for strategic decision-making.

4. Sales & Business Growth

  • Supervise and monitor the sales team’s activities and performance.

  • Review and approve pricing strategies, sales targets, and promotional initiatives.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction and handle key client relationships when necessary.

5. Production & Quality Control

  • Coordinate between the factory, lab, and production teams to ensure quality and timely output.

  • Enforce quality standards and resolve production issues promptly.

  • Monitor inventory levels and supply chain efficiency.

6. Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Collaborate with the management to set short- and long-term business goals.

  • Prepare operational and performance reports for senior leadership.

  • Lead special projects or cross-functional initiatives as required.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in operations or general management, preferably in the fashion, retail, or manufacturing sector.

  • Proven ability to manage large teams and complex operations.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Financial acumen and analytical capability to interpret operational data.

  • High level of integrity, discipline, and adaptability.
