Responsibilities & Context:
∎ 1. Coordination with marketing and merchandising team: He meets with marketing team for future orders, present order status, and product costing and to discuss capacity status of the factory/s. He handles production issues and when required he can directly contact concerns for variations.
∎ 2. Planning of production units: Production planning, Material planning and machinery planning is done or reviewed by him.
∎ 3. Allocations: Based on available capacity, product categories he allocates styles. He plans and transfers outsourced work to Factories such as Print/washes/Emb etc. Ensure that production targets are met. Daily Follow up.
∎ 4. Technical setting of the garment: Has Knowledge of Reading Comments & implementing them and a basic Knowledge of Fitting & Patterns. He should have basic knowledge and experience of Consumption & Cad. He should know how costs for buyers is done.
∎ 5. Involvement meetings: He attends Production & merchandising meetings and ensures that important points are discussed at the meeting.
∎ 6. Production monitoring: He does follow up day-to-day production from each line and ensures that production units meet the production target.
∎ 7. Quality: He ensures that the factory produces quality products at minimum alteration and repair cost. He ensures that only quality goods are shipped to the buyers.
∎ 8. Dispatch of Samples: He has knowledge on dispatch of samples and proper procedure.
∎ 9. Costing: He checks manpower costing of each floor and try to keep manpower cost under control. He has basic accounts Knowledge to work out costing. Also, should be good in negotiation of any purchases made and get the best & most competitive products.
∎ 10. Cost cutting of production processes: Cost cutting is a continuous goal to a General Manager. He works out the best possible ways where production cost can be minimized and goes for it.
∎ 11. Employee Training: To motivate employees and enrich their knowledge in certain areas training program is arranged by him.
∎ 12. Compliance: He makes sure that the facility is compliant with proper housekeeping. To ensure that proper maintenance of machines, Needle Policy etc. are maintained. Clear goals for Safety should be maintained.
∎ 13. Recruitment: He is also involved in hiring people to ensure that only the right personnel are employed in the company.
∎ 14. Capex / Opex Cost & Maintenance: Proper Budgeting of any new/additional Capital expenditure to be made and approval sort. Operational Expenses monitoring and proper recording of same. Ensure that Maintenance of Facility/machines is done.
∎ 15. Workers personal & welfare activities: These are also part of his job responsibilities.
∎ 16. Inter departmental issues: He ensures smooth flow of information and material from one department to another. He resolves inter-departmental issues if there are any.
∎ 17. HR / Administration of Complete Facility, including handling of support staff & IT. Lead + Guide all the Teams, Maintain Organizational Structure, assign Duties and most important to be pillar and guide them during turbulent times.
∎ 18. Reporting to Immediate Head, weekly basis with proper reports (presentations)
∎ Language - Good in English (Written / Spoken)
∎ Computer Skills - Knowledge of Excel / word / PP & Basic ERP if used earlier.
