Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Special Education Teacher role based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Special Education Teacher will plan, deliver, and adapt instruction for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring access to the curriculum from Pre-K through middle school and beyond. Daily responsibilities include developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), differentiating lessons, providing small-group and one-on-one support, and collaborating with general education teachers to implement inclusive classroom strategies. The teacher will assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families and guardians about goals, strategies, and achievements. The role also involves working closely with school leadership and support staff to promote a safe, supportive learning environment that reflects the school’s core values.
Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in Special Education/Social Studies and supporting students with a range of disabilities.
Demonstrated teaching skills, including lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional differentiation.
Experience working with middle school–aged learners and familiarity with age-appropriate pedagogy.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues.
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Social Studies, Social Science or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in Special Education are an asset.
Experience in international or English-medium schools is preferred.
Ability to create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments aligned with the school’s values.
Competence in using educational technology and assessment tools to support individualized learning.
