Responsibilities & Context:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Control & Line Management

  • Supervise daily production activities on assigned sewing lines.

  • Ensure that production targets are achieved as per plan and buyer quality standards.

  • Distribute work among operators and helpers according to their skill level.

  • Monitor the flow of materials, trims, and garments to avoid line stoppage.

  • Coordinate with cutting, finishing, and quality departments for smooth operation.

2. Productivity & Efficiency

  • Monitor operator performance and ensure efficiency levels are met.

  • Identify bottlenecks and take corrective action to maintain production flow.

  • Implement methods suggested by IE (Industrial Engineering) for line balancing and efficiency improvement.

  • Reduce idle time, wastage, and rework through proper supervision.

3. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure garments are produced according to approved samples and buyer specifications.

  • Work closely with quality controllers and in-line checkers to detect and correct defects immediately.

  • Train operators on proper stitching techniques and quality requirements.

  • Ensure zero defects are passed to the next process.

 

4. People Management & Discipline

  • Supervise operators, helpers, and other production staff on the line.

  • Maintain discipline, attendance, and proper behavior among workers.

  • Motivate workers to achieve daily targets through teamwork.

  • Report absenteeism, misconduct, or performance issues to higher management.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily production reports (output, defect, rejection, and absenteeism).

  • Submit hourly production updates to the Production Manager or Line Chief.

  • Record production stoppages, causes, and corrective actions.

  • Maintain attendance and overtime sheets of line workers accurately.
