∎ Must have sound technical background to facilitate the mapping of financial services, conducting ToT on Financial Literacy and Business Development.
∎ At least 6 years of relevant experience in market system analysis, value chain assessments, and profiling of business opportunities at the Upazila level.
∎ Sound understanding on Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) in the migration framework,
∎ Proven experience in working with development stakeholders in similar assignments.
∎ Strong IT competence with proven knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office
∎ Strong language skills (oral and written) in English and Bengali.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Facilitate the mapping of financial services, remittance transfer mechanisms, and mobilization of savings and micro-credit schemes for Left Behind Family Members.
∎ Recommend procedures for improved financial literacy training and coaching for families left behind.
∎ Strengthen the capacity of the pool of trainers to provide financial literacy training, business development, and market linkages.
∎ Together with project partners, facilitate beneficiary selection process and financial literacy training.
∎ Conduct market analysis, value chain assessments, and profiling of business opportunities.
∎ Review and select entrepreneurship/business development products and services.
∎ Develop cooperation with financial service institutions to facilitate access for interested families.
∎ Coordinate with other program/initiatives in similar field, in particular with other SDC supported projects.
∎ Collaborate with migration NGOs and other service providers for financial literacy and remittance management support.
∎ Represent SIMS towards relevant institutions, in close collaboration with Project Coordinators and SIMS Project Director.
∎ About The Project
∎ Since decades, migration has been central to Bangladesh’s socio-economic development, and it is an important livelihood strategy for women and men, and their families. Over the past decade, an average of 600’000 Bangladeshi opted for labour migration every year, with a steady increase, in particular also of women migrants. Despite its importance, labor migration processes (including access to skills and information, recruitment, access to justice, remittances management, etc.) are still characterised by several gaps and limitations, rendering both female and male migrant workers and their families vulnerable and underutilising their potential. With the objective of mitigating the negative impacts and risks related to labour migration and maximizing its benefits, Helvetas implements the Strengthened and Informative Migration System (SIMS) project. SIMS completed its first phase on 31 March 2024 and initiated its second from 1 April 2024.
