Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Conduct registration interviews for refugees/FDMNs and record information collected into UNHCR proGres and the Biometrics Identity Management System (BIMS) databases, including biodata, photographs, biometrics, and specific needs according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
∎ Print and distribute individual and family identification documents.
∎ Support in related registration processes, including scheduling, ushering, reception, and admission.
∎ To conduct home visits in camps in Cox’s Bazar.
∎ To support the Programme Manager in implementing the MRRO’s Registration action plan for 2025.
∎ To undertake field visits to gather the information related to the Registration documentation.
∎ To be responsible for producing statistical report for Registration team with appropriate information.
∎ Take responsibility for specific areas of the program activities as delegated by the Programme Manager.
∎ Serve as the liaison for the assigned department with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; negotiate and resolve sensitive and controversial issues in discussion with UNHCR Registration Colleagues.
∎ Maintain an effective working relationship with BDRCS and UNHCR’s counterparts.
∎ Prepare daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, and half-yearly reports based on analysis and statistics on regular activities.
∎ Perform duties upholding respect and adherence to the fundamental principles of International Red Cross and Crescent movement as well as Code of Conduct of UNHCR. Perform any other duties as instructed by the line manager.

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President's Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the Government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people over the last 50 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.
∎ Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for suitable Bangladeshi national for the following positions under Myanmar Refugee Relief Operations (MRRO) at Cox’s Bazar:
∎ Department: Myanmar Refugee Relief Operation (MRRO) under Disaster Response Department
∎ Reportable to: Programme Manager, MRRO, BDRCS
∎ Contract length: Up to 30 June 2025 (the position is for 06 months only)
∎ Job nature: Temporary (Candidates to be available to start from Feb 01, 2025)
∎ Age: 36 years (the maximum age limit may be relaxed for qualified candidates)
∎ Purpose: Registration is a key activity to ensure proper records of all persons of concern. The registration of the Rohingya is conducted jointly by the Government of Bangladesh and UNHCR, supported by BDRCS through its various operational facilities and competencies. In response to the increased demand for registration activities for verification of the Registered Refugees in the Registered camps in Kutupalong and Nayapara and the continuous registration of the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN) population in thirty-one camps in Cox’s Bazar district and Bhasan Char, BDRCS expanded its operations with approval from UNHCR. This expansion involved hiring additional Field Registration Assistants (FRA), enumerators, and Rohingya semi-skilled volunteers, acquiring office supplies, renting micro cars, and covering other associated expenses. Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager, the Field Registration Assistants (FRA) will be responsible for supporting the Registration activities of Myanmar Refugee Relief Operations (MRRO) of BDRCS. The position will work closely with the UNHCR, the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) Registration team and MRRO management at Cox’s Bazar and coordinate with MRRO of BDRCS.
∎ Position Summary: The FRAs will be responsible for assisting the Registration team of UNHCR and RRRC and MRRO with collection of all information and data collected, documented, and reported in a timely manner for UNHCR and internal purposes of BDRCS. The FRAs are responsible to produce the periodic reports on Myanmar Refugee Relief Operation (MRRO) in Cox's Bazar for project management team. The FRAs will support programme manager and other MRRO personnel to follow good practices in PSEA implementation, while final responsibility for institutional PSEA efforts lies with the MRRO-BDRCS Management.
