Information about Aparajeyo-Bangladesh:
Aparajeyo-Bangladesh (AB) is a national human rights–based, non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 1995, dedicated to supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable children, adolescents, youth, and women across Bangladesh. As part of its continued commitment to promoting child protection, gender equality, and community empowerment, Aparajeyo-Bangladesh will start a project “Space Two Lead (S2L)” which was funded by Plan International Bangladesh, and implementing by Aparajeyo-Bangladesh. The S2L project focuses on three critical and interconnected issues affecting vulnerable communities in Bangladesh:
Through this initiative, the project aims to equip adolescents, youth, parents, and community members with knowledge, awareness, and resources to challenge harmful practices, claim their rights, and access essential services in a safe and supportive environment. The S2L project will be implemented by Aparajeyo-Bangladesh in Sunamganj District (Duarabazar Upazila) and Kurigram District (Nageshwari and Bhurungamari Upazilas), in collaboration with local stakeholders, community groups, youth organizations, child protection structures, and government service providers. The project will place strong emphasis on community-driven solutions, strengthening referral pathways, and promoting the active leadership of adolescents and women in preventing GBV and early marriage while enhancing access to SRHR information and services. The overall aim of the S2L project is to create safer, more inclusive, and gender-responsive communities where adolescents and young people—especially girls—can exercise their SRHR rights, live free from violence, and pursue their aspirations without the threat of early or forced marriage.
