Job Context:
∎ Currently, SFSA Bangladesh is implementing a project titled, `Boosting Agriculture Risk Mitigation in Bangladesh through Climate Insurance for Small-holders` that envisions to enhance the resilience of smallholder farmers through climate insurance. The overall project objective is to design a set of customer centric Agriculture Climate Risk Insurance (ACRI) solution for various crops and perils (e.g. rice, potato, vegetable, maize and flood etc.) that is need based and adequately designed and tailored considering the risks faced by the smallholder farmers in Bangladesh. This initiative will be backed with development of an innovative end-to-end Agri-InsurTech Cloud Platform to facilitate efficient policy administration, contract monitoring and claims management. It is a 2-years long project, co-funded by the Insuresilience Solutions Fund (ISF), managed by the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, and lead by Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture (SFSA).
∎ For this project, SFSA Bangladesh is looking for a suitable candidate to fill up the position of `Field Coordinator`.
∎ Type of Contract : Full Time Employee of the project; initially for one year
∎ Location of Posting : Any district/sub-district in North Bengal
∎ Job Summary: Field coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring overall field activities, maintain liaison with partners and project team in coordination with Project Manager.
∎ Relationships: S/he will be reportable to the Project Manager and work in close coordination with other portfolio of SFSA Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordinate, manage, support and monitor field team;
∎ Prepare field implementation plan, schedule, dry run study conduction;
∎ Maintain effective liaison with partners and project team;
∎ Assist project partners in implementing activities;
∎ Oversee and maintain automated weather stations (AWS) and rain water level gauges in field;
∎ Maintain project expenses and administrations at field; and
∎ Participate in coordination meetings, prepare monthly/ad-hoc reports and meeting minutes.
∎ Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible to perform any other assignment(s) given by the management of SFSA Bangladesh.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Incumbent must have at least 03 years of relevant job experience with reputed INGO and donor funded agriculture and/or value chain development project;
∎ Experienced and skilled in facilitating farmers' group, conduct need based assessment, climate change adaptation aspect;
∎ Proven skills in dealing with partners e.g. public/private/NGO sector for agriculture and/or market systems development;
∎ Experience in collecting field data and prepare project progress reports;
∎ Good computer skills on MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and emailing;
∎ Good written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla;
∎ Excellent Interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team; and maintain the targets and deadlines.
