Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Make a budget, annual action plan and implementation according to land target.
∎ Supervise 160 to 240 acres land for seed production per year.
∎ Assist JSS and TA, Hybrid Rice, Officer purchase to select hybrid rice seed production block
∎ To ensure local and foreign materials purchase & supply on time.
∎ To ensure on time seeding and produced robust seedlings.
∎ To ensure transplanting within 7 to 10 days and ensure quality planting.
∎ To ensure farmer’s training before transplanting and GA3 application & randomly checked 10% plot which is visited by JSS and TA, Hybrid Rice.
∎ Provide technical and management support for quality seed production and evaluation ongoing activities by monitoring. To ensure process loss of produced seeds maximum 2%.
∎ Staff development through meeting, coaching, counseling, feedback, mentoring & ensure accountability of the staff.
∎ Verify Panicle Initiation checking to maintain adjustment of male and female parent and conduct rouging to maintain genetic purity of seeds.
∎ Take necessary steps such as rouging, isolation, R line transplanting in boarder area & chatal management to maintain the germination % of seeds & seed quality.
∎ Take necessary steps to produce diseases free, black spot free and minimum 98 % genetic purity F1 rice seeds.
∎ To monitoring proper GA3 spraying and conduct supplementary pollination on time and make a schedule for seed harvesting, threshing & drying.
∎ Keep update all documents, analyzing profit/loss and send monthly report & all SCA report to the supervisor, SCA & Agriculture office on time. Security of all BRAC’s assets.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
