Responsibilities & Context:

Job Summary

The Executive /Sr. Executive – Costing will be responsible for managing product costing, cost analysis, and financial control activities for a large-scale plastic packaging manufacturing plant. The role involves monitoring raw material consumption, production costs, and ensuring accurate cost allocation to support business decision-making and profitability.


Key Responsibilities

Costing & Analysis

  • Prepare and maintain product-wise cost sheets for plastic bottles, caps, and closures.

  • Conduct standard costing, variance analysis (material, labor, overhead).

  • Analyze production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve efficiency.

  • Calculate BOM (Bill of Materials) and update based on design or price changes.

Raw Material & Inventory Control

  • Monitor consumption of key raw materials (e.g., PET resin, HDPE, masterbatch).

  • Track material yield, wastage, and scrap analysis.

  • Coordinate with store and production for accurate stock and usage reporting.

Production Cost Monitoring

  • Evaluate machine-wise and batch-wise production cost.

  • Analyze utility costs (electricity, gas, water) per unit production.

  • Support production team in improving cost efficiency and reducing losses.

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Assist in annual budgeting and cost forecasting.

  • Prepare monthly MIS reports highlighting cost performance.

  • Provide management with cost insights for pricing and profitability analysis.

System & Compliance

  • Ensure proper cost allocation in ERP/Accounting systems.

  • Maintain accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

  • Support internal and external audits related to costing and inventory.
