Job Context:

The Executive – Chemical Management is responsible for overseeing chemical handling, compliance, documentation, and regulatory adherence within the garments accessories manufacturing process. The role ensures all chemicals used in production meet buyer requirements, international standards, and environmental safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Chemical Compliance & Regulatory Management

• Ensure compliance with ZDHC, REACH, RSL, MRSL, OEKO-TEX, GOTS, and other buyer-specific standards.

• Maintain updated chemical inventory with Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS).

• Monitor restricted substance lists (RSL) and ensure non-compliant chemicals are eliminated.

• Coordinate third-party chemical testing and certification.

2️⃣ Chemical Inventory & Storage Control

• Maintain proper chemical storage as per safety guidelines.

• Conduct periodic chemical stock audits.

• Ensure proper labeling and segregation of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.

• Monitor expiry dates and disposal procedures.

3️⃣ Supplier & Chemical Approval Process

• Evaluate and approve chemical suppliers.

• Collect chemical compliance declarations and test reports from suppliers.

• Maintain approved chemical list (ACL).

4️⃣ Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain compliance documentation for audits.

• Prepare reports for internal and external audits.

• Support customer compliance audits and sustainability assessments.

5️⃣ Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

• Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.

• Train workers on chemical safety and emergency procedures.

• Coordinate with EHS team for risk assessments.

6️⃣ Testing & Quality Control

• Coordinate lab testing for chemical substances in accessories (e.g., metal trims, zippers, labels).

• Monitor wastewater and effluent testing where applicable.

• Investigate chemical-related quality issues.
