Job Context:
∎ Water & Life Bangladesh (W&L Bangladesh) is a non-profit organization, created by the French NGO Eau & Vie. The NGO is active in Bangladesh in the livelihood development of Urban Slum dwellers implementing Water Network, Firefighting, Hygiene promotion, Sanitation and Solid waste management activities.
∎ W&L Bangladesh works in close association with the social business company Shobar Jonno Pani (SJP), created by Eau & Vie, which is specialized in safe water supply for lower income community who do not have access to water in Bangladesh, aiming at creating quality-controlled piped and metered water supply networks, which are financially viable, socially responsible and adapted to the needs of urban low income community.
∎ Both W&L Bangladesh and SJP engaged in partnerships with the local communities, authorities, water operator and other development stakeholders through two branches one in Dhaka and the other one in Chattogram.
∎ Job Type: 3 Months` Contract (with possibility of extension)
∎ Job Nature: Fulltime (Time can be flexible depending on the experience and skill).
∎ Reporting To: HR Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ We are looking for an experienced English trainer to join our growing team.
∎ The main goal of English trainer will be to create a supportive learning environment which will help our employees meet their learning goals. Through interesting and diverse methods, trainer will prepare the team to read, write, and speak in English with confidence.
∎ The responsibilities of the English trainer shall include but not be limited to the following:
∎ Teach basic to advanced level English skills including reading, writing, and speaking to different level of student.
∎ Develop lesson plans, adapt curriculum to meet individual employee needs.
∎ Organize lectures and coursework.
∎ Techniques for developing English writing and speaking skills.
∎ Smart email writing approach for effective communications.
∎ Report writing basics for advance students.
∎ Avoiding common errors in written documents.
∎ Spoken English for effective correspondence.
∎ Prepare materials and activities.
∎ Assign homework and interesting exercises.
∎ Identify students with special requirements and create individualized plans if required.
∎ Determine exam and assignment grades.
∎ Establish and maintain standards of employee behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
∎ Devise and utilize techniques which accurately measure student progress.
∎ Perform other relevant job duties if required.
∎ Assessment, Recording and Reporting:
∎ Evaluate student's personal growth keeping appropriate records, and prepare progress reports to submit to the HR department.
∎ Score and return work set, including homework within an agreed and reasonable time.
∎ Carry out assessment programs, as agreed by the management.
∎ Report issues of concern to the appropriate senior staff or the HR department.
∎ Maintain an accurate register of attendance and do everything possible to encourage good attendance.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 1 years' concrete experience in an English Instructor/Trainer role.
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s) as a trainer/teacher: English Language Training, Spoken English, and Basic English.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 18000 - 28000 (Monthly)
∎ Salary depends on candidate`s skills and work experience.
Negotiable for candidates with long proven experience.
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Two Days' Weekend.
∎ Leave as per policy.
