Educational Requirements:
∎ BA or Diploma degree, preferably related to Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent
Experience Requirements:
∎ 7 to 10 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ Knowledge and experience in using AUTOCAD software
∎ - Strong experience in planning, design, coordination and implementation of emergency shelter projects in both the camp and non-camp setting in Cox’s Bazar.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ -Assist Project Manager in the development of assessment (Social and Technical) and Focus Group Discussion Tools. Plan and supervise community meetings and other community mobilization activities.
∎ -Develop suitable shelter designs for the project and supervise construction of shelter of the approved designs for the person’s of concern
∎ -Ensure that basic technical criteria of land availability/property, accessibility,security, topography, water resources, absorption capacity, and adequate terrain for proper sanitation facilities are taken into consideration before construction of shelter
∎ -Assist the Project Manager in developing beneficiary selection criteria and Standard Operating Procedures. Supervise field staffs and ensure that beneficiaries have been selected in accordance with criteria.
∎ - In collaboration with the Project Manager develop messaging around project implementation methodology, scope of work, selection criteria and any other related beneficiary project documents. Develop training materials for Shelter Field teams and beneficiaries as required.
∎ - In collaboration with Project Manager and with input from Shelter Facilitator/Mobilizers, develop of technical aspects of Tender Documentation for project. Participate in tender openings and review of supplier samples with
∎ Logistics.
∎ -Develop Scope of Work formats and requirements with input from Shelter Facilitator/Mobilizers.
∎ - In collaboration with PM and other concerned personnel to develop minimum technical standards for construction/upgrades/rehabilitation and ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with allocated budget.
∎ -Supervise and document information related to following up carried out, relating to any project beneficiary information requests and complaints as directed by Project Manager and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit. Directly carry out follow up on sensitive cases.
∎ -Review and evaluate construction works, and ensure priority is given to local population and usage of local materials, taking protection of the environment into account
∎ -Deliver finalized shelter and consolidated reports on construction related activities in already established sites and new sites
∎ -Comply with Bangladesh law and follow all the procedures, compliance and documentation requirements

∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
