Educational Requirements:
∎ A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as gender studies, social work, sociology, psychology, or a related discipline (a bachelor degree may be preferred for certain positions).

∎ Contract duration: Initially for Four (4) months, up to 30 November 2023 (To be extend based on fund availability and performance appraisal)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Engaging Males through Accountability (EMAP) Officer is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that aim to engage men and promote their accountability in various social and gender-related issues. This role characteristically involves working within a specific organization, community that focuses on gender equality, violence prevention, or related areas. The following are potential responsibilities associated with this position:
∎ Program Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement programs and initiatives that encourage men to actively participate in promoting gender equality, challenging harmful gender norms, and preventing gender-based violence.
∎ Outreach and Engagement: Conduct outreach activities to actively involve men in discussions, workshops, and awareness campaigns related to gender equality, healthy masculinity, and responsible behavior. This may involve organizing events, delivering presentations, or facilitating group discussions.
∎ Capacity building: Develop and deliver training sessions to educate men on topics such as consent, respectful relationships, gender stereotypes, and the impact of violence. Provide resources and support to help men become allies and advocates for gender equality.
∎ Advocacy and Policy: Advocate for gender-inclusive policies and practices within organizations and communities. Collaborate with policymakers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote positive change and ensure accountability in addressing gender-related issues.
∎ Collaboration and Partnership: Work closely with community organizations, non-profits, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to build partnerships, share resources, and coordinate efforts in engaging men and fostering accountability.
∎ Monitoring and Evaluation: Collect and analyze data to assess the impact of programs and initiatives targeting males. Develop evaluation frameworks and conduct assessments to gauge the effectiveness of interventions and make informed adjustments.
∎ Research and Best Practices: Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in engaging men in gender equality and violence prevention efforts. Apply this knowledge to enhance program effectiveness and contribute to the field's knowledge base.
∎ Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, such as beneficiaries, partners, and internal departments, to understand their needs and expectations, build relationships, and ensure effective communication throughout the program lifecycle
∎ Commitment to ensure for Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) safeguarding, and it refers to a set of principles and measures aimed at preventing and addressing incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse within humanitarian and development organizations. Safeguarding, on the other hand, encompasses a broader concept that includes the protection of all individuals, including children and vulnerable populations, from harm, abuse, or exploitation

Additional Requirements:
∎ Only females are allowed to apply
∎ Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of gender dynamics, masculinity, gender-based violence, and related social issues.
∎ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate men from diverse backgrounds.
∎ Ability to develop and deliver training programs and facilitate discussions with diverse groups.
∎ Experience in project management, or community engagement is desirable.
∎ Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation techniques to assess the impact of programs.
∎ Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to gender equality and violence prevention.
∎ Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and build effective partnerships.
∎ Sensitivity to cultural and individual differences, with the capacity to work with diverse communities.
∎ Proficiency in basic computer operation especially MS word, MS Excel and PowerPoint
∎ Two (2) years of relevant experience.
∎ Proficiency in Chittagonian languages

Salary:
∎ Salary: 43,000 (Non-negotiable)
