Job Responsibilities:
∎ Knowing how to properly wind and insulate coils is a fundamental aspect of motor rewinding. This includes selecting the right wire gauge and insulation materials.
∎ Working with electricity and electrical equipment can be hazardous, so safety precautions and awareness are paramount.
∎ The ability to diagnose motor problems and determine whether rewinding is necessary is crucial for a motor rewinder.
∎ Skills in soldering and welding may be required for connecting wires and components within the motor.
∎ Motor rewinders should be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams to understand the motor's configuration.
∎ Basic math skills are important for calculating wire lengths, coil turns, and other measurements necessary for rewinding. Motor rewinding can be a meticulous process, requiring precision and attention to detail.
∎ Different types of motors (e.g., AC motors, DC motors, single-phase, three-phase) may require different techniques for rewinding, so familiarity with various motor types is helpful.
∎ Being aware of industry standards and regulations related to motor rewinding is important for ensuring safety and compliance.
∎ Good communication skills are essential for interacting with clients, understanding their motor issues, and explaining repair options and costs.

∎ Relevant experience in operating and maintaining motor rewinding facilities.

∎ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for conducting tests and analyzing data.
∎ Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
∎ Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions. Willingness to work rotating shifts and be on-call for emergencies.
