SSC or equivalent (Technical education will be given preference).
Marine Engineering/Engine Driver Certificate from a recognized institute will be an added advantage.
Minimum 3 years of practical experience as a Cruise Engine Driver, Marine Engine Operator, or in a similar position.
Experience in operating passenger vessels will be preferred.
Responsibilities & Context:
Operate and monitor the main engine and auxiliary machinery during cruise operations.
Conduct daily inspections of engines, generators, batteries, pumps, cooling systems, and fuel systems.
Perform preventive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
Maintain engine room cleanliness and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Monitor fuel and lubricating oil consumption and maintain proper records.
Coordinate with the Cruise Master regarding engine performance and voyage requirements.
Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) regulations and company SOPs.
Respond promptly to emergency mechanical situations.
Maintain engine logbooks and submit reports to management.
