Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ Oversee the collection, preservation, and archiving of antemortem information for MDPD victims of the Rohingya community, ensuring the data is accurate, complete, and secure in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
∎ Coordinate and manage data entry and quality control procedures for all MDPD victim information and maintain accurate records of all collected data.
∎ Supervise and provide training to assistant documentation officers and volunteers to ensure that data collection and documentation meet established protocols and guidelines.
∎ Develop and implement awareness-raising materials and victim interview documentation specific to the Rohingya context in coordination with the technical team.
∎ Conduct and/or supervise interviews with MDPD victim families, survivors, and witnesses to gather antemortem information, family genealogies, and relative reference samples for future human identification efforts.
∎ Liaise with other project staff, stakeholders, and partners to ensure effective coordination and timely completion of project objectives.
∎ Support the development of project reports and documentation of lessons learned for sharing with relevant stakeholders and partners.
∎ Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
∎ Possess good interpersonal skills.
∎ Documentation Management Responsibilities:
∎ Organize an effective archiving system.
∎ Retrieve documents upon request.
∎ Outline a long-term storage strategy.
∎ Label, sort, and categorize documents for easy access and retrieval.
∎ Ensure regulatory compliance.
∎ Assist with internal and external audits.
∎ Ensure the integrity of all documentation.
∎ Train employees on efficient documentation practices.
∎ Control access to confidential documents.
∎ Remove outdated and obsolete documents.
∎ Utilize storage software and electronic filing applications.
∎ Perform transcription and document conversion work.
∎ Proofread documents when requested.
∎ Be proficient with scanning and administrative technologies.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 40 years
∎ At least three years of experience in documentation or related fields, preferably in a humanitarian or human rights context.
∎ Strong knowledge of and experience in applying international human rights standards and practices, with an understanding of the Rohingya context.
∎ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
∎ Ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize tasks effectively.
∎ Demonstrated experience in managing data and documentation systems, including database management.
∎ Fluency in English and Bangla required, with proficiency in Rohingya language a plus.
