Experience:
Accountant or MBA from a reputed university, or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
A Ph. D. in accounting or finance having strong academic interest may be considered as added qualification.
15–20 years of experience in senior leadership roles within professional institutions, regulatory bodies, professional services firms, or large national or multinational organizations.
Experience in managing curriculum design and dealing with advanced level examination systems will be considered as added skills.
Demonstrated experience in teaching and research having global working exposure with professional accounting bodies (IFAC, SAFA, CAPA) will be highly desirable.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), the premier professional body responsible for developing and regulating the accountancy profession in Bangladesh, invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Director - Education & Examination.
ICAB has been managing a full-fledged professional educational responsibility offering both learning facilities in the classrooms as well as assessments in the form of scheduled examinations at different levels of Chartered Accountancy education. The Director (E&E) as Head of the Division will therefore provide strategic and operational leadership to the whole education division under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Institute as per the recently approved organogram of ICAB under its reforms initiative to empower its management fully.

Position Title: Director (Education & Examination), reporting to CEO.
Supervises: Education and Examination division.

Key Responsibilities
The Director (E&E)/DEE will be responsible for:
Syllabus & Curriculum Management: Periodically reviewing and updating the ICAB syllabus and study materials for all levels (Certificate, Professional, and Advanced) to align with global standards like the ICAEW.
Academic Innovation: Working with the Board of Studies (BoS) to develop new and innovative methods of education, including organizing both physical and online classes. Aligning ICAB education with all cutting-edge areas such as AI, ESG, sustainability reporting (S1/S2), and public financial management etc.
Faculty Engagement: Selecting and engaging standard faculty members ensuring ICAB pursuit of very specialized education it adheres to. Collecting feedback from teachers and students regarding the curriculum and implementing necessary improvements.
Examination Oversight: Holding all examinations following annual schedule and ensuring the timely availability of suggested answers for examination questions and maintaining the integrity of the assessment process.
Stakeholder Liaison: Maintaining close communication with regulatory bodies (such as the Bangladesh Bank, BSEC, and NBR) and international accounting organizations (IFAC, SAFA, CAPA) to ensure educational systems meet their guidelines.
Professional Development: Taking a proactive role in organizing seminars, workshops, and training for panel teachers, question setters and examiners to enhance professional competence. Align CA coursework with global graduate equivalency to assist CAs to be able successfully compete both at home and abroad.
Academic Operations: Managing the effective functioning of the academic environments, including classrooms, library, IT lab etc. and overseeing the procurement of professional books and study resources.
Strategy implementation: Coordinating with CEO’s bigger role to implement the overall strategies of ICAB with a view to keeping ICAB aligned with the global standard.
