Job Context:
∎ The role
∎ This position will be responsible to implement and provide guidance to the Urban Resilience project in Dhaka and Narayangonj districts. Under the supervision of Project Manager, s/he will contribute in planning, implementation, and monitoring of the project activities including coordinate with the implementing partner NGOs for successful implementation of activities. S/he needs to work with children, communities, I/NGOs and government stakeholders and makes planning for proper coordination and networking with urban stakeholders. S/he will also make plan for urban assessments, capacity building of concerned stakeholders and develop strategy for effective advocacy. S/he will be responsibility to track the budget of the project and guide implementing partner NGOs to track the financial records and reporting & documentation.
∎ Qualifications and experience
∎ * At least 5 years’ experience, preferably in risk reduction projects
∎ * Knowledge on industry ‘best practices’ in disaster risk reduction and resilience projects
∎ * Strong management/supervisory skills
∎ * Proven facilitation and training skills
∎ * Excellent written communications including report writing, newsletters, articles in newspapers
∎ * Financial/budget management skills
∎ * Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet
∎ * Motivated, committed and responsible to the assigned tasks
∎ * Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
∎ * Ability to work in a team with flexibility to undertake challenging task and adapt to different working conditions.
∎ * Master’s Degree, preferably in Social Sciences/Environmental Science/MDS/DRM, or related discipline

∎ Business : The role
The Project Manager-DRR and EiE is mainly responsible for the overall implementation, monitoring, and supervision of EiE and DRR activities in Multi Purpose Cyclone Shelter (MPCS) and adjacent communities. S/he will supervise Project Officer/Senior Project Officer- EiE and DRR to implementation of EiE and DRR interventions and maintain accountability of the project activities following Save the Children and core humanitarian Standard. S/he will also provide support and enhance the capacity of government, partners and respective project staffs, including overall monitor their activities. The incumbent will provide technical inputs into the development, implementation and monitoring of the project and maintain close coordination with Save the Children field unit and collaboration with implementing partners.
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum 6 years of working experience, preferably in Education in Emergency (EiE) response, recovery and rehabilitation including Disaster Risk Reduction, including 3 years in management position.
* Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects related to DRR and EiE for children and young people, with a policy influencing dimension and proven experience on managing large projects.
* Excellent capacity building skill, especially the partners
* Ability to work in any situation during emergency
* Skill on expenditure tracking and monitoring
* Excellent communication skills in English & Bangla with the ability to produce quality analytical reports
* Master’s Degree, preferably in Disaster Management/Development Studies or relevant fields
