Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ The USAID funded Strengthening Political Landscape (SPL) program in Bangladesh, implemented by Democracy International (DI), is designed to improve the capacity of political parties to operate effectively and democratically, improve the environment for meaningful collaboration between political parties and politically active citizen organizations, and improve democratic attitudes and reduce conflict in the political parties to help strengthen the political landscape in Bangladesh.
∎ DI is recruiting a mid-level employee to serve as a Deputy Director, Advocacy and Communications. This is a position is for a full-time employee.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Advocacy
∎ Support multi-party advocacy platforms to develop district-specific and national advocacy campaigns.
∎ Support development of advocacy campaigns related to women and youth empowerment.
∎ Provide guidance and support to SPL regional staff to effectively bring together political leaders from different parties to resolve community issues.
∎ Work with regional offices to improve capacity of multi-party advocacy platforms towards sustainability.
∎ Ensure that advocacy activities and successes are properly documented, reported and filed to facilitate effective monitoring, evaluation and learning.
∎ Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including, but not limited to political party members of the SPL network, civil society at the regional/ district level in close collaboration and coordination with the relevant SPL program staff
∎ Communications
∎ Manage development and dissemination of communications and outreach materials, including press releases, posters, banners, infographics, etc. for online and offline use, in close collaboration with the Senior Management Team.
∎ Ensure quality control on all communications.
∎ Managing online and offline social campaigns.
∎ Management
∎ Manage advocacy and communications team.
∎ Build capacity of staff on advocacy and communications.
∎ Manage activity-related vendors.
∎ Complete other tasks as required by his/her supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of ten years' experience in development sector.
∎ At least four years' experience developing and implementing advocacy activities
∎ At least four years' experience conducting and managing communications activities.
∎ Additional experience in managing programs related to institutional governance and capacity building, conflict mitigation and peacebuilding preferred.
∎ Clear understanding and familiarity with the political context of Bangladesh.
∎ Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills both in English and Bangla.
∎ Excellent ICT and computer skills, especially MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft outlook and internet research; and
∎ Possess high level of integrity and adaptability.
